The Protection Branch of the Ministry of Forests is responsible for the protection of BC forests through Fire Prevention and Suppression. Fire Weather forecasts are extremely important in these operations. Since 1975, our staff have worked closely with BC Forest Service to make sure Fire damage has been kept to a minimum.

Enviro BC provided weather forecast services for the maintenance of the 82 kilometre power transmission line from Kemano to Kitimat during the summer of 2007 & 2008. The powerline passes through vast stretches of BC wilderness reaching as high as 1500 metre above sea level through the Kildala Pass.
